Use the makefile-executor package instead of helm-make to execute make
targets. But we still rely on helm-make due to it's more efficient
available targets lookup function compared to that of makefile-executor.
Running make targets is bound to C-c C-m now which is nice and fast, and
completes via completing-read, which is currently giving a better
suggested candidates via selectrum+orderless than helm-make does.
And helm-make is still available via the old C-c h m keybinding.
The highlight-indent-guides package seems to have a cursor movement bug
with some modes, and makefile-mode is one of them.
Also Makefiles are tab indented, and the indentation highlight replaces
the tab character symbol, making it difficult to properly understand the
indentation level.
- Switch from highlight-indentation package to highlight-indent-guides.
- Activate visual indentation in a prog-mode hook, rather than doing
within each individual major mode. It was already done within all
major modes based on prog-mode anyway.
- Add new siren-display-indetation module and function as a central way
to enable visual indetation guides. This makes switching the
underlying package at some point in the future much easier.
