Syntax highlighting within code blocks is nice, but it doesn't always
play that nice, and messes up the syntax highlighting of the rest of the
file quite often.
Previously prettier would always format markdown files to 80 character
long lines. Now it reads the character width from the fill-column
variable in such a way that fill-column can be set with dir-local
variables.
Some buffers which use markdown-mode or yaml mode yield errors when
using the prettier-js package to format them, as it looks at the file
extension by default to figure out what parser to use.
Some temporary files that use these modes don't have the correct file
extension, so prettier-js yields an error. My manually specifying the
correct "--parser" option for each major-mode, this is no longer an
issue.
Enable polymode within code-blocks in Markdown files. Effectively, it
allows code-blocks of various languages to be handled by their
respective major modes, allowing correct syntax highlighting, snippets,
and other features to work as you would expect.
This allows editing code blocks within markdown files in a separate
buffer with the proper language major-mode applied.
Also integrate it with recursive-narrow, so it can be triggered with via
narrowing commands.
This module wraps around the fill-column-indicator and it's
fci-mode. This will enable easy switch-over to Emacs 27's native
display-fill-column-indicator feature.
Also create a new siren-display-line-numbers module and function that's
responsible for turning on the display of line numbers. Future changes
to how line numbers are displayed can now be done in a single place.
